About Us

The Beginning

Kinda like a tavern, kinda like a grill. That's a perfect description for the Village Tavern & Grill (VTG), a restaurant concept started in 1992.

The Village Tavern is part of the Creative Hospitality restaurant group, which is owned by J.R. Hutson and Mike Coughlan. Since the founding of their first eatery in Schaumburg, Illinois, J.R. and Mike have since expanded their family of restaurants by opening a VTG in Carol Stream, Illinois.

Concepts & Growth

The adventure continued to grow with the opening of Pilot Pete's at the Schaumburg Municipal Airport in Schaumburg in 1998 (that makes two restaurants in Schaumburg for those of you who like to keep track). The restaurant is one of the primary attractions at the newly-constructed Schaumburg Municipal Airport terminal. The facility is also minutes away from Alexian Field, the home of the Schaumburg Flyers, a semi-professional baseball team that is part of the Northern League.

Community Contributions

Despite the continued success, Creative Hospitality and its restaurants remain committed to the communities in which they are located. Charitable fundraisers, team sponsorships, and other activities are but some of the things that Creative Hospitality does to give back to the people who have made the restaurants so successful.

Food & Fun

Aside from everything else, what keeps people coming back is the great food, friendly service, and the relaxed, neighborly feel at each Creative Hospitality restaurant. Repeat business is at the core of our success. It's a place people call their own...and that's exactly the way it should be.
